Dry-in!
Thursday, January 15th, 2009Thanks to a hard-working team of students putting in long hours during finals period, the Ze-Row is now at the ‘dry-in’ phase. What is dry-in, you may ask? Basically, wall and roof sheathing is now installed, and a temporary roof is nailed in place. While the home is not yet weather-tight, it is well-enough protected from the elements that it will stay dry (on the inside). Now that we have the basic shell and structure of the house, we can begin the installation of the electrical and plumbing systems, as well as the PV array and the solar hot water collectors (the exciting bits!). Once these systems are installed, our interiors group will work to make the house livable and beautiful. Watch construction closely, because from this point onward, the pace will start to pick up!
