Day 7 on the Mall

Team ZEROW has had an incredible past couple of days!
Day 7 was the last day before tours began. We passed the last of our inspections, including our final saftey inspection, which was one of the most important. Also we were pretty excited to learn that we were the first team on the mall to pass ALL 30+ inspection! Roque, Ryan, Eric, Brent, Danny, Nonya, and Johnathon comprised our team today, and they did a great job of making sure the ZEROW was ready for passing final inspections and also for tours which began the following day.
We also welcomed the tour crew into DC! We had 7 team members fly into Washington (they had to leave after studio and battle Houston traffic and an external security scare at George Bush International Airport to make it on their plane in time) at 10:45 pm. North, Kathryn, Rachal, Rebecca, Aron, Megan, Travis, and Cherry made it to DC safely! We had a midnight meeting in Danny, our faculty advisor’s room, and I think we were all happy to see our team together. It was also great to get some new energy!
So we are ready for the Opening Ceremony and VIP tours that begin on Day 8. Time to share our ideas of an affordable solar home to over 100,000 people!
